GP Commissioning

GP Commissioning - Where Eden Services can help

Government plans are to transfer commissioning powers to GP’s. Practice-based commissioning (PBC) is one of the cornerstones of recent government health policy reform, but there is a widespread view that it has not yet lived up to expectations or delivered its intended benefits. PBC was designed to put commissioning powers in the hands of those at the frontline of primary care service delivery (GP’s, nurses and other primary care professionals). As such, GP practices have been given ‘virtual’ budgets with which to ‘buy’ health services for their population. GP’s may need to buy in expertise and elements of commercial skills where procurement of clinical services and supplies are concerned.

As a Procurement and Sourcing Consultancy Service, Eden want to support GP’s to secure services and supplies that are of the right quality, of the right price and are “fit for purpose”. And aid GP consortia in working closely with secondary care, community partners and other health and care professionals to design joined-up services that are responsive to patients and the public

As Procurement professionals we understand the quality and productivity challenges facing GP’s. Eden will play a vital role in assisting GP’s to develop their own services and to secure value for money for patients and tax-payers, driving-up quality and productivity, challenging existing service provision and securing innovative, more cost-effective means of service delivery.

Eden will undertake a consistent and rigorous approach to managing the expiry of existing contracts, undertaking thorough service reviews and health market analysis, to secure improved quality and productivity, to ensure that services are provided in the most appropriate settings.

Our business is not based on limitations and we offer bespoke solutions to cultivate opportunities and give your business the strength to grow.
